Most jewelry should be stored and kept in low humidity and away from direct sunlight.
Some jewelry such as filled, plated metal or silver are prone to tarnishing than others.
Use a jewelry case
I always recommend my customers to store their jewelry in a jewelry case like the one in the photo above. This protect your jewelry from dust and the soft lining prevent your fine jewelry from scratches.
If you don’t have a jewelry case, you can use items you already have at home to store your jewelry
Let’s take a look!
Use little pouches
Little velvet pouches or cotton pouches are not only cute, but also perfect to carry your jewelry with you when traveling.
The soft linings of these fabrics prevent your jewelry from scratches especially if your jewelry contains gemstones.
Use zip-locks
Small zip-lock bags are great for storing jewelry. You can use them to store necklaces with the chain sticking out from the bag to help prevent knotting and tangling. It’s best to store your jewelry in an individual zip lock bag.
Make sure your jewelry is dry and clean
Moisture and humidity can cause metal to tarnish, so make sure to clean and let your jewelry air-dry before storing them.
